In order to process glass with such an efficient system without any adverse effects on quality, a number of important aspects should be taken into consideration. This provides specific instructions regarding storage, handling and processing.
Storage should be in a dry clean place, away from glass washers, external doors and corrosive chemicals. Relative humidity in the warehouse should not exceed 70%. Stock should always be rotated (First in, First out). All people responsible for handling and processing the glass at Tempo Glass have been properly trained on the correct handling, storage and processing of any particular type of glass.
Special cutting fluid is used for easy evaporation as well as edge deletion is required prior to assembling insulating units, to prevent contact between the silver layer and the surrounding atmosphere. In Tempo Glass, the cutting process is handled by automated machine avoiding cutting by hand eliminating any scratches that might occur.
Glass grinding is done using an automated double belt machine to assure the best manual edging for any glass type. The glass is rinsed directly after the operation.
Glass cleaning is performed in special washing machines with de-ionized water (≤30μS). For coated glass, particular setting for the dedicated washing machines is performed. After washing, a visual inspection is carried out in both transmission and reflection. Suitable lighting at the point of inspection is provided.
Glazing units for a particular project are ensured to be processed with the same direction during the heat treatment.
